Parrocchia Santa Maria del Mare

The Church of Santa Maria del Mare is located in Pittulongu, a seaside town in the municipality of Olbia, in the province of Sassari, Sardinia. It is the first church in the hamlet, built to meet the spiritual needs of a growing community, both during the summer and winter seasons.

In 2015, the parish celebrated its first patronal feast, celebrated on the second Sunday of July, a significant event that marked the beginning of liturgical life in the new church, still under construction. The service was presided over by the vicar, Father Alberto Guevara, who had assumed leadership of the parish a few months earlier. The church was designed with a modern and functional architecture, conceived to harmoniously integrate with the surrounding environment and respond to the needs of the local community. Its location, near the Mare e Rocce beach, makes it not only a religious but also a cultural and social hub for Pittulongu.

Today, the parish continues to play a central role in community life, organizing religious, cultural, and social events that strengthen the bond between residents and visitors to the area.
